Despite COVID-19, Whoop-Up Days 2020 big success

LETHBRIDGE, AB– The modified Whoop-Up Days that took place this past summer was surely different than any other year, but it is still considered a success.

Lethbridge & District Exhibition and Umami Shop announce donations totaling $10,057 to FCC Drive Away Hunger.

More than 3,000 vehicles attended the multi-day events held through Umami Shop and at Exhibition Park.

Programming included virtual gourmet pancake breakfasts, drive-thru pancake breakfasts, drive-thru Jumbo Ears, drive-thru baked potato stands, and a two-day food truck festival
held at Exhibition Park.

660 kg of flour milled by Parrish & Heimbecker in Lethbridge, 450 litres of Canola Oil processed by Richardson Oil Seeds in Lethbridge, and 160 kg of sugar processed by Rogers Sugar in Taber was used in the production of Jumbo Ears over the three-day event.

“The success of this event wouldn’t have been possible without the tremendous partnership and nudging from Patricia and Sven at Umami Shop,” said Chief Operating Officer of Lethbridge & District Exhibition, Mike Warkentin.

“Once again, the incredible generosity of this community never ceases to amaze me.”

Exhibition Park and Umami Shop finished by thanking all volunteers and everyone that came by to any of the events.
