Monday is general voting day for Crowsnest Pass council by-election

CROWSNEST PASS, AB – Residents of the Crowsnest Pass will decide who their next councillor will be.

Monday, October 26 is the general voting day from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

The following information on voting locations comes directly from the municipality:

“Institutional vote will also take place on October 26 at Tecumseh Apartments, Westwind Apartments, and York Creek Lodge.

  • Subdivision A: All electors from Coleman at 90th street west to the west municipal boundary on both the north and south of Highway 3. Voting Station: Crowsnest Sports Complex, Curling Club Lounge (main floor) 8702-22nd Avenue Coleman
  • Subdivision B: All electors from Blairmore and Frank -90th Street east to 153rd Street- North and South of Highway #3. Voting Station: Elks Hall, 2025-129 Street, Blairmore
  • Subdivision C: All electors from Bellevue and Hillcrest – 5th Avenue east to the Municipal boundary. Voting Station: MDM Community Centre (gymnasium), 2802-222 Street, Bellevue”

One seat is up for grabs after now-former councillor Gordon Lundy announced his resignation back in March “due to personal reasons.”

Two candidates are vying to take his place, as Glen Girhiny and Oliver Strickland are in the running.

Both are realtors in the community.
