COALDALE, AB – RCMP continue to investigate a Monday (Oct 26) night incident in the Coaldale McDonalds’ parking lot.

As vehicles were proceeding through the drive-through around 11:00-pm, patrons yelled to the attendant at the window that a man was smashing a car in the parking lot.

One of the all-night employees went to the opposite window and saw a man vandalizing her vehicle, which was parked under a street light. The woman didn’t recognize the male suspect and yelled at him to get away from her car. At that point, the suspect began to approach the building, loudly expressing expletives against women.

Another staff member had called the police who arrived and took a 41-year-old transient man into custody.

The owner of the vehicle told LNN that the suspect smashed her vehicle’s windows, had the trunk open and was trying to pry the hood open.

“The car alarm was going off but, he didn’t care.”

No name has been released as charges have not been filed yet and RCMP are looking into any other possible vandalism related to the individual.
