LETHBRIDGE, AB – An outbreak of COVID-19 has been declared at Winston Churchill High School.

The Lethbridge School Division (LSD) says it received notice of the outbreak from Alberta Health Services (AHS) on October 27.

An outbreak is defined as two or more confirmed cases of COVID-19 in a school setting. The division says there are three cases of the novel coronavirus at Winston Churchill High School.

Based on advice from AHS, the division says the school will remain open at this time.

“AHS has proceeded with defining close contacts of the three cases within the school context, and those individuals will be contacted by the school through an emailed letter and individually by AHS as close contacts,” the division said in a release.

“Those individuals will be required to quarantine immediately for the period defined by AHS.”
