LETHBRIDGE, AB – Students at St. Paul School in Lethbridge will be lined with literacy.

The elementary school applied to the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation for a literacy grant.

While they were unsuccessful in receiving the grant, First Book Canada chose St. Paul as a runner up.

The non-profit sent a pallet of 1,530 books to the school, which has now been received.

“We work with the major players in the Canadian book publishing industry to distribute brand new books and educational resources to Canadian children from across the country and this year marks the 8th year of our partnership with the Indigo Love of Reading Foundation,” says Tessa Eisenberg, National Engagement Manager of First Book Canada.

The Holy Spirit Catholic School Division says each student will be given four or five books and the rest will be used to update the school’s library.

Principal Gerry Muldoon credited librarian Kim Godwin for putting in the work to make this shipment of books happen.
