Community invited to next phase of 3 Avenue rejuvenation engagement process

Nov 4, 2020 | 10:50 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge residents are invited to share their thoughts on the 3 Avenue beautification project.

The City of Lethbridge says the 1.6 kilometre stretch of road from Stafford Drive to Mayor Magrath Drive will help rejuvenate 3 Avenue.

“The goal of the project is to design both the esthetics and the function of the street, creating a safe, friendly, vibrant and appealing space for not just cars but also transit, pedestrians and cyclists,” officials said in a release.

In June, the project team hosted an online ‘Drawing in Dialogue’ exercise with stakeholders.

“Those inspirations were shared with the public in June/July for additional feedback.”

That information has been collected and compiled into more detailed plans and the public can once again provide feedback through an online forum this week.

The next phase of engagement will include a presentation, as well as a survey/forum where participants will be able to look at the different corridor options that have been created.

Two engagement sessions are taking place on Thursday, November 5. One will be at 2 p.m., the other at 6 p.m.

They will be delivered via Microsoft Teams and pre-registration is not required.

When the sessions go live, the links will be made active here.
