COVID-19 case identified at Lethbridge Collegiate Institute

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has confirmed a case of COVID-19 at Lethbridge Collegiate Institute.

Contact tracing is underway and close contacts are being instructed to quarantine immediately.

Those close contacts will be notified via email. The Lethbridge School Division says if you are not contacted, then your child is not a close contact and can attend school as usual, following all public health guidelines.

“Our thoughts remain with this individual that has tested positive, and their family. We wish them a safe and speedy recovery,” the division said in a release.

The school schedule at LCI will proceed as normal today, November 10.

The division could not say if the patient was a student or staff member. Enhanced cleaning measures have been taken at the facility, with a focus on areas where the individual was present, along with high-touch areas and surfaces.
