Lethbridge sees 25 new COVID cases Tuesday

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released Tuesday’s report on COVID-19, covering statistics from the past 24 hours.

773 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total 40,962. Of those, 10,068 cases are active while 30,462 people have recovered.

That includes 47 positive tests in the South Zone with Lethbridge’s 25 making up the bulk.

The region now has 548 active infections, 174 of which are in Lethbridge.

To date, the virus has claimed the lives of 432 Albertans.

Provincially, 268 patients are currently hospitalized and 57 have been admitted to intensive care units.

The regional breakdown for COVID-19 in Alberta, including numbers for the past three days, is as follows:

  • Calgary zone – 17,737 cases, 4,208 active
    • 173 deaths
    • 83 in hospital, 14 in ICU
  • Edmonton zone – 15,443 cases, 4,138 active
    • 172 deaths (four new)
    • 152 in hospital, 37 in ICU
  • South zone – 3,149 cases, 548 active
    • 36 deaths
    • 19 in hospital, five in ICU
  • North zone – 2,901 cases, 645 active
    • 41 deaths
    • 10 in hospital, one in ICU
  • Central zone – 1,575 cases, 441 active
    • 10 deaths
    • Four in hospital

The breakdown for the South Health Zone by community, including numbers for the past three days, is as follows:

  • Brooks – 1,236 cases (one new), 32 active, 11 deaths
  • Lethbridge – 782 cases (25 new), 174 active, seven deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 310 cases (five new), 68 active, two deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 270 cases (nine new), 72 active, three deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 202 cases (11 new), 34 active, two deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 253 cases (three new), 69 active, one death
  • Medicine Hat – 154 cases (two new), 51 active, two deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 142 cases (10 new), 76 active
  • Cardston County – 135 cases (one new), 22 active, five deaths
  • County of Forty Mile – 88 cases (three new), 30 active, one death
  • Cypress County – 87 cases (one new), 40 active
  • County of Newell – 86 cases, 25 active, two deaths
  • County of Warner – 85 cases (one new), 11 active, one death
  • Fort Macleod – 43 cases, seven active, three deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 35 cases (one new), eight active, two deaths
  • Crowsnest Pass – Four cases, one active
