TORONTO, ON – For the start of the upcoming NBA season, you could call them the Tampa Raptors.

The Toronto Raptors will start the 2020-2021 season playing their home games in Tampa, Florida.

This comes after consultations with numerous levels of government. The franchise was unable to come to an agreement with the government to play their home games at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

The 2020-2021 NBA season is scheduled to start on December 22.

Training camps are slated to start on December 1 and the regular season will be shortened to 72 games instead of 82 due to COVID-19.

The Raptors join the Toronto Blue Jays, Toronto FC, Montreal Impact and the Vancouver Whitecaps, who played most of their respective seasons outside of Canada.
