CASTLE MOUNTAIN, AB – Skiers and snowboarders rejoice – Castle Mountain Resort is now open.

Sneak peek weekend takes place from Friday, November 27-29 with the official opening on Friday, December 4.

“With the current limitations on inter-provincial and out of country travel, Castle remains dedicated to providing guests with access to world-class ski and snowboard terrain, a perfect alternative for those hoping to stay closer to home for the foreseeable future,” reads a press release from Castle Mountain.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the resort has introduced a number of measures to maximize safety, including:

  • Enhanced cleaning and sanitization
  • Reduced access to shared indoor spaces
  • Temporary weather-proof structures to limit crowding
  • Mandatory face coverings
  • Social distancing mandates
  • You can pick up day and season passes in Lethbridge, Pincher Creek, Okotoks, or Calgary

“We continue to face the challenges of 2020 with careful consideration of our guests and look forward to providing them with access to one of the few remaining recreational activities that has been left relatively untouched by pandemic-related restrictions,” says Castle Mountain Resort Sales & Marketing Manager Cole Fawcett.

“We have gone to great lengths to ensure the health and safety of all and remain committed to creating a fun, family-friendly environment for new and returning guests this season.”

For backcountry use, group sizes have been reduced from two groups of 12 per day to one group of up to 12 guests per day. Cat skiing will be offered five days per week instead of three.

Snow school programs will proceed as planned, but supervised lunches and child-minding services will not be available this season.
