LETHBRIDGE, AB – Police in Lethbridge have charged a 15-year-old with weapons offences following an incident early Sunday.

On November 29, just before 2:30 a.m. in the parking lot of Father Leonard Van Tighem School, police say the accused pulled out what is believed to be a BB handgun and fired several times towards a parked vehicle.

LPS reported that a 17-year-old male was hit multiple times by the projectiles, but did not appear to have suffered serious injuries.

Windows in the vehicle were also broken and the accused left the scene before being arrested at his home without incident.

He’s charged with four counts of assault with a weapon, as well as one count of mischief. He was released on a promise to appear in court February 10, 2021.
