Lethbridge’s COVID cases to date surpasses 1,000 while 206 currently active

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released Monday’s report on COVID-19, covering statistics from the past 24 hours.

1,733 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 58,177. Of those, 16,454 cases are active while 41,182 people have recovered.

For just the last three days combined, Alberta saw 5,072 positive tests for the virus.

In Monday’s update, 94 cases were identified in the South Health Zone.

Lethbridge had by far the most locally with 30 new infections. Elsewhere in the region, there were 14 cases in the M.D of Taber, 11 in the County of Warner, and 10 each in Lethbridge County and Medicine Hat.

The latest report pushes Lethbridge’s caseload to date into four digits with a total of 1,009. Currently, 206 of those are active.

Another eight Albertans have died from COVID since Sunday’s report including three each in the Calgary and Edmonton Zones and one each in the South and Central Zones.

The person from the South Zone was a resident of Brooks.

Provincially, 453 patients are currently hospitalized and 96 have been admitted to intensive care units.

2,255,072 tests have been completed among 1,473,584 different people in Alberta. Approximately 20,500 tests were done in the last 24 hours.

The regional breakdown for COVID-19 in Alberta is as follows:

  • Calgary zone – 23,929 cases, 6,141 active
    • 198 deaths (three new)
    • 146 in hospital, 31 in ICU
  • Edmonton zone – 23,433 cases, 7,388 active
    • 237 deaths (three new)
    • 232 in hospital, 53 in ICU
  • South zone – 3,890 cases, 693 active
    • 44 deaths (one new)
    • 17 in hospital, five in ICU
  • North zone – 3,810 cases, 869 active
    • 46 deaths
    • 25 in hospital, two in active
  • Central zone – 2,868 cases, 1,238 active
    • 16 deaths (one new)
    • 33 in hospital, five in ICU

The breakdown for the South Health Zone by community is as follows:

  • Brooks – 1,283 cases (four new), 43 active, 13 deaths (one new)
  • Lethbridge – 1,009 cases (30 new), 206 active, seven deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 399 cases (19 new), 80 active, two deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 328 cases (five new), 55 active, three deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 282 cases (six new), 71 active, two deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 329 cases (10 new), 75 active, two deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 273 cases (10 new), 109 active, four deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 251 cases (14 new), 100 active, four deaths
  • Cardston County – 167 cases (three new), 29 active, five deaths
  • County of Warner – 121 cases (11 new), 38 active, one death
  • Cypress County – 116 cases, 24 active, zero deaths
  • County of Forty Mile – 107 cases (one new), 22 active, one death
  • County of Newell – 109 cases (eight new), 21 active, two deaths
  • Fort Macleod – 48 cases (one new), five active, three deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 38 cases (one new), six active, two deaths
  • Crowsnest Pass – Seven cases (one new), three active, zero deaths
