LETHBRIDGE, AB – UPDATE: On Monday evening, Nov. 30, the Lethbridge School Division confirmed a fourth case of COVID-19 at Wilson Middle School.

The Lethbridge School Division has been notified of additional cases of COVID-19 at a pair of local schools.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) first declared an outbreak at Wilson Middle School on November 1 when two people tested positive. This met AHS’ low threshold of two cases within a 14-day period for school outbreaks.

On Sunday, November 29, one more positive test was identified at Wilson.

The school will remain open for Grade 6 students.

As well, AHS confirmed one case at Dr. Probe Elementary School on Monday, November 30.

The school schedule will proceed as normal for Tuesday, December 1.

In both instances, it was not specified by AHS whether the affected persons were staff or students.

As a reminder, LNN reported last week that students in Grades 7-12 across Alberta would be moving to at-home learning as of Monday, November 30.

Those in K-6, including those in the early education program, will continue in-person learning until December 18, at which point, they will begin their Christmas break.
