Overwhelming success for Lethbridge Police Charity Checkstop
LETHBRIDGE, AB. — For their first ever try at a Charity Checkstop, the confidence LPS had in the community to come through for them was rewarded with incredible generosity.
On Saturday (Nov 28), volunteers and police officers accepted donations on behalf of the Lethbridge Family Service Angel Tree Christmas campaign and the Lethbridge Food Bank.
Vehicles pulled up in front of the ENMAX Centre well before the appointed hour to make donations, and a steady stream of traffic continued for the next four hours. Many of those making donations brought multiple items for both the Angel Tree campaign and the food bank, but no offering was too small.
It touched the hearts of volunteers to see young children clutching change from their piggy banks, excited to make the holiday season a little brighter for those in need.
