LETHBRIDGE, AB – A new survey from the Angus Reid Institute claims Alberta’s Jason Kenney is the second least-liked premier in Canada.

5,003 Canadians were polled from November 24-30, 2020.

40 per cent of respondents said they approve of Kenney’s work as premier, meaning only Manitoba’s Brian Pallister was less popular (32 per cent).

58 per cent disapproved of Kenney while two per cent said they were “not sure.”

Kenney was sworn in as Alberta’s top elected leader in April 2019. The first Premiers’ Performance that he was part of was in June last year when 61 per cent gave their thumbs up.

That number has decreased in almost every edition since.

The findings, which Angus Reid said were informed by the comments left by respondents, suggest that Kenney’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic has created division amongst Albertans.

Per capita, the province had the largest number of average daily cases in the last seven days.
