Alberta COVID cases surge to record 1,854 in one day
LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released Thursday’s report on COVID-19, covering statistics from the past 24 hours.
1,854 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 63,023. Of those, 17,743 cases are active while 44,705 people have recovered.
For the first time since the pandemic began, the Calgary Zone no longer has the most cases to date in the province. That unfortunate distinction has gone to the Edmonton Zone, who saw 1,003 positive tests in just the past day.
In the South Health Zone, 42 people contracted the virus with Lethbridge’s 24 making up the bulk.
