City facilities to close starting Sunday

LETHBRIDGE, AB– After the Alberta Government announced new COVID-19 restrictions Tuesday, the City of Lethbridge has made their changes.

New restrictions: Province announces business closures due to COVID surge

Starting at 12:00 am Sunday, December 13, Lethbridge City facilities will be closed until at least January 15, 2021.

The following facilities will be closed on Sunday, December 13:

  • Stan Siwik & Nicholas Sheran Pools
  • The Cor Van Raay YMCA at ATB Centre
    • Access will be available for physiotherapy, childcare and retail tenants based on public health guidelines
  • All arenas including ATB Centre
  • Helen Schuler Nature Centre
  • Casa
  • Multicultural Centre (Southern Alberta Ethnic Association)
  • Galt Museum
  • Lethbridge Library (both Downtown and Crossings Branch)
  • SAAG
  • ENMAX Centre

Yates Theatre and Fritz Sick pool have remained closed since March 16.

Also, all City employees who can work from home will continue to do so.

As of right now, City Hall is currently still open to the public but this will be evaluated to determine if there are any vital services that are required in-person.

On top of the restrictions for indoor recreation such as gyms closing, outdoor recreation is allowed.
