Two convoys united at the ENMAX Centre, with the first group of vehicles arriving from nearby Taber and the second from Lethbridge.

According to a release from organizers, the group’s message was as follows:

  • To create awareness that on December 21, at 9:30 a.m., Freedom Corp. will appear in front of the Court of Queen’s Bench in Alberta to set aside recent Chief Medical Officer of Health orders that “trample the constitutionally protected rights of citizens in Alberta”.
    • The release stated that the COVID-19 measures are “beyond the powers” of the provincial government “pursuant to the Alberta Bill of Right and Freedoms” and “violate the Charter of Rights and Freedoms”. • Lift Lock-down Restrictions
  • Save Christmas 2020

Organizers of the event said it was not an anti-mask rally and had invited everyone to attend, saying “mask or no mask…it’s your choice”.

“This convoy is against the lockdown and [in support of] our freedoms,” read the release.

“We are all affected by the lockdown.”
