Taber man charged with possessing drug & shurikens

TABER, AB – Taber Police have arrested a man on a variety of charges.

On Thursday, December 17 at approximately 8:20 am, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a β€œnon-matching license plate.”

The driver, who was known to police, allegedly provided a false name.

It was determined by police that Michael Paul Hiesinger, 35, of Taber, had his license suspended and he was apprehended on outstanding warrants.

Police claim to have seized two grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and prohibited weapons (shurikens).

Hiesinger was charged with personation, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a prohibited weapon, failure to comply with a weapon prohibition order, and numerous charges under the Traffic Safety Act.

The man was released, on conditions, to appear in Taber Provincial Court on February 2, 2021.
