1,300 confirmed COVID-19 cases Friday

EDMONTON, AB– Alberta Health Services has released their “modified update” on COVID-19 for Friday, detailing statistics compiled over the past 24 hours.
On the first day of 2021, Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Deena Hinshaw provided a brief overview of today’s numbers. It does not give a regional or community-level breakdown.
Approximately 1,300 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 102,928.
Around 16,300 tests were conducted in this period, meaning the positivity rate rests around seven per cent.
