Police charge Lethbridge business with ‘contravening public health order’

LETHBRIDGE, AB– Lethbridge Police reported they have given an appearance notice for a court date on January 22, 2021, for a business in Lethbridge.

Police were given the task to check a number of businesses that had publicly stated they were going to open Monday in contravention of the Public Health Act.

One business was found in non-compliance and the owner was charged under Section 73(1) of the Public Health Act for contravening a public health order.

Police did not say which business violated these rules and have said they will release more information when it is presented.

AHS says Police will continue to monitor local businesses for any infractions of the health protocols.
