Dylan Cozens likely to make NHL debut this week

LETHBRIDGE, AB– Former Lethbridge Hurricanes Co-Captain and star, Dylan Cozens is proposed to make his NHL debut with the Buffalo Sabres sometime this week.

After a stellar performance at the World Juniors last week, Cozens was called up to the Sabres’ training camp roster.

The 19-year-old Lethbridge Hurricane was selected seventh overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and according to the organization.

In seven games at the World Juniors, Cozens recorded 16 points (eight goals, eight assists) and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Back in April of 2020, he was named the Lethbridge Hurricanes Most Valuable Player for the 2019-2020 season totalling a team-high of 85 points (38 goals-47 assists).

Cozens tied for fifth in WHL scoring in goals, seventh in total points, and finished atop the league in shorthanded goals.

Along with Cozens, 139 WHL Alumni were named to NHL opening night rosters.

The Sabres play against the Washington Capitals tomorrow night and against the Philadelphia Flyers Monday.
