Canada not expecting “a single dose” of COVID vaccine next week

Jan 19, 2021 | 12:29 PM

Procurement Minister Anita Anand says Pfizer does not expect any more interruptions to its Canadian deliveries of COVID-19 vaccines after the middle of next month.

The country, however, is not going to get a single dose next week and this week’s shipment was about 20 per cent less than expected.

That has forced some provinces to pause vaccination programs.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford is appealing to U-S president-elect Joe Biden for help securing more COVID-19 vaccines for the province.

He’s appealing to Biden to share a million doses of the Pfizer shot that’s manufactured in Michigan.

Pfizer is still expected to ship four-million doses to Canada by the end of March.
