Calgary singer Tate McRae performs on Jimmy Fallon

CALGARY, AB– Tate McRae, 17, is exploding onto the celebrity scene with her breakout song “You Broke Me First,” landing her on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night.

The Calgarian singer is living in the spotlight after performing on the Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live, the 2020 Video Music Awards, and the 2020 MTV VMA’s.

Her biggest single has been shooting up the YouTube top charts sitting currently at 61 million views which was filmed in Calgary, showcasing the Calgary Tower in the background.

McRae is signed to RCA Records, who have other popular music artists under their wing, including Miley Cyrus, Alicia Keys, and Childish Gambino.

RCA Records is based in Los Angeles and according to a video of McRae on YouTube, she’s been able to record a lot of her music in California, mainly before the pandemic.

While being only 17 years old, Tate has 1.4 million followers on Instagram and 44,000 on Twitter, with both girls and boys becoming a fan instantly.

Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi, acknowledged her success in a tweet congratulating her on her success so far.

McRae has released a new single “Rubberband,” which already has almost a million views in the last two days on YouTube alone.

Seeing a 17 year old Canadian make it onto the big stage, especially during a pandemic, shows that hard work, talent, and dedication can provide your wildest dreams.
