Claresholm RCMP recovers stolen property, suspect facing 10 new charges

CLARESHOLM, AB – RCMP in Claresholm were able to recover several stolen items.

On Tuesday, January 26, officers in Claresholm, with assistance from Nanton RCMP, searched a local home.

Three occupants were found inside along with numerous items that were stolen.

“As a result of the search warrant, a second property located in the M.D of Willow Creek was identified as possibly housing more stolen property,” reads a media release from Claresholm RCMP. “Subsequently, the second property was searched and resulted in the seizure of more evidence.”

Jordan Toth, 23, of Claresholm is charged with break and enter, possession of property obtained by a crime exceeding $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, three counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

At the time he was arrested, RCMP said he already had several outstanding warrants totalling “another 16 Criminal Code offences.”

Toth was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Lethbridge Provincial Court on January 28, 2021.

A man and a woman were released from custody with a future court date for property, weapons, and drug-related offences. Their names were not released.
