582 new COVID cases in Alberta, including 10 in Lethbridge
LETHBRIDGE, AB. — Alberta Health Services has released Thursday’s report on COVID-19. Dr. Deena Hinshaw started her afternoon announcement by pointing out an anomaly.
During the counting of cases on Wednesday, it was discovered that roughly 6000 lab cases were missed and added to today’s totals. Please note, not all of the missed cases are positive. For those cases that are positive, it will make today’s numbers appear to have made a significant jump. However, when the two day totals are averaged out, Alberta’s numbers are holding fairly steady.
582 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 125,672. Of those, 6,588 cases are active while 117,400 people have recovered.
The provincial positivity rate for today’s numbers is around 3.6 per cent.
