Football Alberta announce 2020 award winners

Feb 11, 2021 | 11:45 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB– Although there was not very much football allowed in 2020, Football Alberta have given their awards for the season.

School districts in Lethbridge decided to postpone sports for the fall, and one man wasn’t going down without a fight.

Andrew Kamitakahara, with the Lethbridge U18 Flag Football League, was recognized for quickly reaching out to coaches and players alike and created the Lethbridge U18 Flag Football League.

Since there was no football allowed for most of 2020 in Lethbridge due to COVID-19 rules, Kamitakahara helped dozens of players who otherwise might not have had a football experience in 2020, and were able to be on-field for meaningful competitions.
