Care from the Heart Day Radio-a-thon raises over $260,000 for CRH Foundation

LETHBRIDGE, AB – For the 11^th year, the Care from the Heart Day Radio-a-thon was a major success!

The event on Thursday, Feb. 11 helped raise funds for the Chinook Regional Hospital (CRH) Foundation.

Those funds in turn help purchase new equipment, set up programs and support services for staff at Lethbridge’s Chinook Regional Hospital.

Funds will also help with the on-going renovation and redevelopment of the mental health area and assist with the hospital’s COVID-19 response.

As part of the Radio-a-thon, local radio stations broadcast live from their respective stations and encouraged listeners to make donations to the CRH Foundation. During a more normal year, stations would have been set up in the Atrium at the Lethbridge hospital. However, due to pandemic restrictions, that was not the case.

The goal for this year’s event was to raise $250,000.

According to the CRH Foundation, $262,412 has been raised so far.

“We are once again thankful for the outstanding support of our community,” said Jason VandenHoek, executive director of the CRH Foundation.

“Because of this support, we can continue to ensure that the best of care is available at the Chinook Regional Hospital.”

Once again at the helm of the Care from the Heart Day Radio-a-thon was Bob Balog, Honorary Chair.

“My family, just like yours, has utilized the services of the Chinook Regional Hospital,” he said.

“We will all continue to experience the best of care thanks to the many generous donations that we received during Care from the Heart. I am humbled and thank everyone for their support.”
