Derailment west of Coleman – no hazardous goods involved

CROWSNEST PASS, AB. – RCMP confirm a CP train derailed about a kilometre east of the B.C. border around 5:30 Friday (Feb 12) afternoon.
The train, carrying potash, was moving along the rails adjacent to Crowsnest Lake, about ten kilometres west of Coleman. There were no hazardous goods involved and no members of the crew were injured.
CP Police were on-scene to manage the incident and traffic along Highway-3 was not impacted.
There is no indication what caused the incident and the Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
