Hospitalizations continue to decline, as 314 New Covid cases reported in Alberta

EDMONTON, AB – Alberta Health Services has released its update on COVID-19 for Friday, covering statistics compiled over the past 24 hours.

314 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 128,235. Of those, 5,407 cases are active while 121,068 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, 37 people tested positive with 21 of those in Lethbridge.

The County of Warner and Municipality of Crowsnest Pass now have zero active cases.

14 Albertans died from COVID since Thursday’s update including eleven in the Edmonton Zone, two in the Calgary Zone, and one in the North Zone. To date, the virus has claimed the lives of 1,744.

• Edmonton Zone – 52,534 cases, 1,567 active
  • 123 in hospital, 21 in ICU
  • 912 deaths (Eleven new)
• Calgary Zone – 49,296 cases, 2,225 active
  • 142 in hospital, 27 in ICU
  • 546 deaths (Two new)
• North Zone – 10,741 cases, 710 active
  • 45 in hospital, three in ICU
  • 124 deaths (One new)
• Central Zone – 9,422 cases, 693 active
  • 30 in hospital, five in ICU
  • 101 deaths
• South Zone – 6,130 cases, 305 active
  • 32 in hospital, 10 in ICU
  • 77 deaths

• Brooks – 1,365 cases, two active, 14 deaths
• Lethbridge – 1,878 cases (21 new), 182 active, 15 deaths
  • West Lethbridge – 654 cases (Four new), 42 active, two deaths
  • South Lethbridge – 652 cases (five new), 69 active, 12 deaths
  • North Lethbridge – 569 cases (12 new), 69 active, one death
• Medicine Hat – 537 cases (no new), 13 active, 14 deaths
• Cardston County – 531 cases (eight new), 56 active, eight deaths
• Lethbridge County – 524 cases (four new), 12 active, seven deaths
• M.D. of Taber – 332 cases, four active, six deaths
• M.D. of Pincher Creek – 206 cases (three new), 26 active, four deaths
• County of Newell – 158 cases, one active, two deaths
• County of Warner – 158 cases, zero active, two deaths
• Cypress County – 145 cases, one active, zero deaths
