UPDATE: 29-year-old Calgary man dies in two-vehicle collision near Vauxhall

Taber – Vauxhall, AB. – UPDATE: The two-vehicle collision on Highway 526 claimed the life of a 29-year-old Calgary man.

At around 11:52 a.m., Taber-Vauxhall RCMP, EMS and Vauxhall Fire were dispatched to the collision, involving two semi-tractors, on Highway 526 between Range Roads 164 and 165.

The lone driver of the eastbound vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS. His name will not be released.

The adult male driver and child passenger in the second vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The RCMP Collision Analyst was called in to assist with the investigation, with is still underway.

RCMP say charges are not anticipated in the collision.

(02/15/2021) RCMP were called out Monday (Feb. 15) to a collision involving two semi-trailer units.

The incident happened just before noon hour, on Highway 526, north of Vauxhall.

Traffic was diverted west bound on Range Road 164 and then east bound on Range Road 165.

RCMP requested motorists avoid the area as they continued to investigate the collision.
