LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Legion honoured National Flag of Canada Day on Monday.

Flag Day is observed annually on February 15 to commemorate the first time Canada’s red and white maple leaf flag was raised for the very first time on Parliament Hill on February 15, 1965.

National Flag of Canada Day was declared on February 15, 1996. More details on the nation-wide initiative can be found here.

On Monday, members of the Lethbridge Legion, along with a small group of executives and members of the RCMP Association came together at the Legion General Stewart Branch No. 4 to raise a new Canadian flag.

“A powerful symbol that reflects our common values of equality, diversity and inclusion,” said Legion member Glenn Miller, referring to the flag.
