Alberta Parks to start accepting camping reservations March 4

Feb 18, 2021 | 3:31 PM

It’ll still be winter but summer plans for many Albertans will start to take shape in two weeks.

Camping reservations for Alberta Parks will open on March 4.

That day, campers can book individual campsites for bookings up to 90 days in advance. Dates within the 90-day window can be booked the day reservations begin.

The times for reservations will be staggered by region. Reservations in the South Zone will open at 9 a.m.

Comfort camping reservations will open March 5 for bookings 180 days in advance.

Backcountry camping can currently be reserved up to 90 days in advance

Group camping bookings remain closed at this time due to COVID-19 gathering restrictions.

COVID prevention measures put in place last year will remain in effect including:

  • Shower facilities remain closed.
  • Group camping will remain closed as well, unless and until AHS group gathering restrictions are eased.
  • Shared sites with shared amenities like picnic tables and fire pits will have one half of the site closed – the same as last year.
  • If any cancellations are initiated by Alberta Parks due to COVID-19 restrictions, campers will be notified and receive a full refund – including the reservation fee.
