325 new COVID cases in Alberta Friday, one death in Lethbridge

EDMONTON, AB. Alberta Health Services has released its update on COVID-19 for Friday, covering statistics compiled over the past 24 hours.

325 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 130,355. Of those, 4,840 cases are active while 123,703 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, 19 people tested positive including nine in Lethbridge.

Active infections have fallen today for both Lethbridge and the South Zone.

Since yesterday’s update, another seven Albertans died from COVID, including one from person Lethbridge. To date, the virus has claimed the lives of 1,812 people in the province.

Provincially, 352 patients are currently hospitalized including 55 who have been admitted to intensive care.

With another 9,376 tests completed over the past day, there has now been a total of 3,340,763 tests conducted on 1,799,805 different people.

160,423 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Alberta as of the end of February 18.

AHS has confirmed that 253 cases of COVID-19 variants have been confirmed in the province to date. None are in the South Zone.

Below is a breakdown of cases per provincial health zone:

Edmonton Zone – 53,044 cases, 1,260 active

  • 112 in hospital, 17 in ICU
  • 938 deaths (five new)

Calgary Zone – 49,984 cases, 1,702 active

  • 124 in hospital, 23 in ICU
  • 558 deaths

North Zone – 11,129 cases, 792 active

  • 53 in hospital, zero in ICU
  • 130 deaths (one new)

Central Zone – 9,789 cases, 752 active

  • 30 in hospital, six in ICU
  • 101 deaths

South Zone – 6,299 cases, 325 active

  • 33 in hospital, nine in ICU
  • 85 deaths (one new)

Brooks – 1,364 cases, zero active, 14 deaths

Lethbridge – 1,979 cases (nine new), 204 active, 20 deaths (one new)

  • West Lethbridge – 680 cases (two new), 53 active, two deaths
  • South Lethbridge – 677 cases (one new), 58 active, 16 deaths (one new)
  • North Lethbridge – 621 cases (six new), 93 active, two deaths

Cardston County – 566 cases (nine new), 57 active, 10 deaths

Medicine Hat – 543 cases, 15 active, 14 deaths

Lethbridge County – 533 cases (two new), 15 active, seven deaths

M.D. of Taber – 335 cases, three active, six deaths

M.D. of Pincher Creek – 218 cases (one new), 23 active, four deaths

County of Warner – 161 cases, three active, two deaths

County of Newell – 158 cases, zero active, two deaths

Cypress County – 146 cases, two active, zero deaths

County of Forty Mile – 117 cases, zero active, two deaths

Fort Macleod – 95 cases, two active, four deaths

Crowsnest Pass – 24 cases, zero active, zero deaths
