380 new COVID cases including 12 in Lethbridge

EDMONTON, AB. — Alberta Health Services has released its update on COVID-19 on Saturday, covering statistics compiled over the previous 24 hours.

380 new cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 130,735. Of those, 4,803 cases are active while 124,114 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, 24 people tested positive including 12 in Lethbridge.

Since yesterday’s update, another six Albertans died from COVID, one each in the Edmonton and central zones and four in Calgary. To date, the virus has claimed the lives of 1,818 people in the province.

Provincially, 336 patients are currently hospitalized including 51 who are in intensive care.

With another 9,376 tests completed over the past day, there has now been a total of 3,340,763 tests conducted on 1,799,805 different people.

165,527 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Alberta as of the end of February 19.

AHS has confirmed that 253 cases of COVID-19 variants have been confirmed in the province to date. None are in the South Zone.

Edmonton Zone – 53,090 cases, 1,192 active

  • 106 in hospital, 15 in ICU
  • 939 deaths (one new)

Calgary Zone – 50,126 cases, 1,704 active

  • 120 in hospital, 20 in ICU
  • 558 deaths (four new)

North Zone – 11,129 cases, 818 active

  • 47 in hospital, zero in ICU
  • 130 deaths

Central Zone – 9,858 cases, 758 active

  • 33 in hospital, seven in ICU
  • 102 deaths (one new)

South Zone – 6,323 cases, 324 active

  • 30 in hospital, nine in ICU
  • 85 deaths

Brooks – 1,364 cases, zero active, 14 deaths

Lethbridge – 1,991 cases (12 new), 202 active, 20 deaths

  • West Lethbridge – 682 cases (two new), 49 active, two deaths
  • South Lethbridge – 680 cases (three new), 58 active, 16 deaths
  • North Lethbridge – 628 cases (seven new), 95 active, two deaths

Cardston County – 573 cases (seven new), 61 active, 10 deaths

Medicine Hat – 547 cases (four new), 17 active, 14 deaths

Lethbridge County – 533 cases, 15 active, seven deaths

M.D. of Taber – 336 cases (one new), four active, six deaths

M.D. of Pincher Creek – 218 cases, 19 active, four deaths

County of Warner – 161 cases, three active, two deaths

County of Newell – 158 cases, zero active, two deaths

Cypress County – 146 cases, two active, zero deaths

County of Forty Mile – 117 cases, zero active, two deaths

Fort Macleod – 95 cases, one active, four deaths

Crowsnest Pass – 24 cases, zero active, zero deaths
