430 COVID cases in Alberta including 10 in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released its update on COVID-19 for Wednesday, covering statistics compiled over the previous 24 hours.

430 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 132,033. Of those, 4,545 cases are active while 125,622 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, 22 people tested positive including 10 in Lethbridge and seven in Cardston County.

Active infections in the city and regionally remained relatively flat.

Since yesterday’s update, 13 Albertans died from COVID including seven in the Edmonton Zone, four in the Calgary Zone, and one each in the Central and North Zones. To date, the virus has claimed 1,866 lives in Alberta.

Provincially, 307 patients are currently hospitalized including 56 who have been admitted to intensive care.

With another 9,467 tests completed over the past day, there has now been a total of 3,378,594 tests conducted on 1,810,844 different people.

186,572 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Alberta as of the end of February 23.

  • Edmonton Zone – 53,357 cases, 925 active
    • 93 in hospital, 18 in ICU
    • 963 deaths (seven new)
  • Calgary Zone – 50,621 cases, 1,564 active
    • 114 in hospital, 17 in ICU
    • 575 deaths (four new)
  • North Zone – 11,520 cases, 942 active
    • 39 in hospital, four in ICU
    • 135 deaths (one new)
  • Central Zone – 10,025 cases, 759 active
    • 32 in hospital, 10 in ICU
    • 105 deaths (one new)
  • South Zone – 6,414 cases, 353 active
    • 29 in hospital, seven in ICU
    • 88 deaths

  • Brooks – 1,363 cases (one new), one active, 14 deaths
  • Lethbridge – 2,046 cases (10 new), 208 active, 20 deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 694 cases (two new), 47 active, two deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 699 cases (four new), 61 active, 16 deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 652 cases (four new), 100 active, two deaths
  • Cardston County – 596 cases (seven new), 75 active, 10 deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 552 cases, 21 active, 16 deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 540 cases (two new), 20 active, seven deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 337 cases, five active, six deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 215 cases, 14 active, four deaths
  • County of Warner – 162 cases, three active, three deaths
  • County of Newell – 158 cases, zero active, two deaths
  • Cypress County – 145 cases, two active, zero deaths
  • County of Forty Mile – 117 cases, zero active, two deaths
  • Fort Macleod – 100 cases (three new), four active, four deaths
