Lethbridge Hurricanes sign 2018 pick Kayden Sadhra-Kang

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have added a defenceman to their roster.

2003-born Kayden Sadhra-Kang has been signed to a Western Hockey League (WHL) Standard Player Agreement.

Sadhra-Kang was selected in the ninth round, 195th overall, by the Hurricanes in the 2018 WHL Bantam Draft.

The Richmond, B.C. player laced up his skates in 36 games with the St. George’s School U18 Prep team in 2019-2020. There, he totalled 18 points (one goal, 17 assists), along with 36 penalty minutes.

Over the course of three seasons, he appeared in 93 total games at various levels for St. George’s School. In all, he collected 64 points (11 goals, 53 assists), along with 69 penalty minutes.

During the 2019-2020 season, the 6-foot-3 defenceman also appeared in three games with the Surrey Eagles of the British Columbia Hockey League (Junior-A). In those games, he registered one assist and two penalty minutes.

Sadhra-Kang is one of eight d-men on the Hurricanes roster for the 24-game 2021 regular season.

The season starts on Friday, February 26. Lethbridge is on the road against the Edmonton Oil King before a rematch on home ice at the ENMAX Centre on Saturday, February 27.
