18 new COVID cases in Lethbridge, 415 across Alberta

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Alberta Health Services has released its update on COVID-19 for Saturday, covering statistics compiled over the previous 24 hours.

415 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 133,203. Of those, 4,546 cases are active while 126,774 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, 32 people tested positive including 18 in Lethbridge.

Active infections in the city rose by two but increased by 13 across the region.

Since yesterday’s update, six Albertans died from COVID including three in the Central Zone, two in the Calgary Zone, and one in the South Zone. To date, 1,883 Albertans have died from COVID.

The person from the South Zone was a resident of Medicine Hat.

Provincially, 262 patients are currently hospitalized including 51 who have been admitted to intensive care.

With another 7,761 tests conducted over the past day, there has now been a total of 3,404,838 tests completed on 1,818,258 different people.

218,696 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the province as of the end of February 26.

  • Edmonton Zone – 53,650 cases, 926 active
    • 72 in hospital, 18 in ICU
    • 968 deaths
  • Calgary Zone – 50,990 cases, 1,545 active
    • 96 in hospital, 13 in ICU
    • 579 deaths (two new)
  • North Zone – 11,823 cases, 1,044 active
    • 33 in hospital, two in ICU
    • 135 deaths
  • Central Zone – 10,150 cases, 702 active
    • 34 in hospital, 11 in ICU
    • 111 deaths (three new)
  • South Zone – 6,482 cases, 314 active
    • 27 in hospital, seven in ICU
    • 90 deaths (one new)

Below is a breakdown of cases in the South Health Zone:

  • Brooks – 1,361 cases, zero active, 14 deaths
  • Lethbridge – 2,094 cases (18 new), 194 active, 20 deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 712 cases (seven new), 54 active, two deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 710 cases (five new), 56 active, 16 deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 671 cases (six new), 84 active, two deaths
  • Cardston County – 606 cases (seven new), 60 active, 11 deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 553 cases, 18 active, 17 deaths (one new)
  • Lethbridge County – 545 cases (one new), 19 active, seven deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 340 cases (three new), seven active, six deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 216 cases (one new), eight active, four deaths
  • County of Warner – 162 cases, one active, three deaths
  • County of Newell – 159 cases, zero active, two deaths
  • Cypress County – 145 cases, two active, zero deaths
  • County of Forty Mile – 117 cases, zero active, two deaths
  • Fort Macleod – 101 cases (two new), five active, four deaths
