COUTTS, AB – Mounties and Lethbridge Police were taken for a ride to the border on Monday.

On March 1, Cardston RCMP received a report of a stolen vehicle.

The Raymond RCMP detachment attempted to stop the vehicle, but according to Lethbridge Police’s Crime Suppression Team (CST), who assisted, the vehicle continued to flee from the authorities.

The LPS Crime Suppression Team followed the vehicle to the U.S. Border, where the driver was arrested with the help of Border Patrol and RCMP.

“[Lethbridge’s CST] would also like to thank you communication specialists in PSCC for their [three-plus] hour commitment to today’s event. They committed to helping us resolve this safely and aided us along – for a significant amount of time. Job well done,” the Crime Suppression Team stated on social media Monday night.

The CST says multiple charges are pending and the reportedly stolen vehicle was returned to its owner.

No other details have been provided as of Tuesday morning.
