Residential north side fire deemed suspicious

LETHBRIDGE, AB. — City police, working with the city`s fire department, have confirmed a north-side residential fire is deemed suspicious.

24 firefighters from four stations attended the single-family residential fire around 3:45 Sunday (Feb 28) afternoon, in the area of 16 Street and 2 Avenue North.

The fire started on the exterior of one home and then quickly spread to the exterior of a second residence.

There were no injuries but, damage to both properties is estimated to be $185,000.

The actual cause of the fire is not known at this point. Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation, is asked to call 403-328-4444 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
