Former Hurricane Brent Seabrook retires from NHL after 15 seasons

LETHBRIDGE, AB– Lethbridge Hurricanes alumnus Brent Seabrook is hanging up the skates from the NHL after 15 years of professional hockey.

Appearing in 1,114 NHL regular-season games, recording 464 points, recording 103 goals, and 361 assists.

Winning the Stanley Cup three times in 2010, 2013, and 2015 with the Chicago Blackhawks, Seabrook recorded 20 goals and 39 assists in his playoff career.

Seabrook was drafted sixth overall at the 2000 WHL Draft to the Hurricanes and made his debut the following season appearing in four games.

In his WHL rookie season, he notched 39 points (6 goals-33 assists) and won a silver medal at the Under 17 World Championship.

His talent and efforts with the Hurricanes gained the attention of the Blackhawks who selected him with the 14th pick at the 2003 NHL Draft.

The WHL thanked Seabrook in a release, congratulating him on his successful career in the NHL.
