LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Holy Spirit Catholic School Division has confirmed four cases of COVID-19 between two of its schools.

Three cases have been reported at St. Teresa of Calcutta School and one new infection has been confirmed at St. Francis Junior High School.

With these new cases, there are now four listed at St. Teresa of Calcutta School, and three at St. Francis Junior High School.

The division also previously confirmed two cases at Ecole St. Mary School. There are now nine active cases between those three schools.

These infections have resulted in the isolation of roughly 240 staff and students.

Holy Spirit could not say if the most recent cases involved staff members and/or students.

“As always, we continue to work closely with Alberta Health Services to ensure the health and safety of our students and staff,” reads a release from the school division.

All close contacts of the new cases have been notified and are required to quarantine while following the directives provided by Alberta Health Services.
