LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge School Division is announcing an outbreak of COVID-19 at a local high school.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) has confirmed a fifth case at Winston Churchill High School.

Public Health staff are working to determine how many people may have been exposed to the virus during the infectious period.

“The risk to the general population in the school of becoming infected because of these cases is low,” reads a media release from Lethbridge School Division.

Close contact will be notified and instructed to quarantine for at least 14 days.

The school schedule will proceed as normal for Thursday, March 11.

AHS does not disclose publicly who has been impacted by the outbreak, nor whether they are staff or students.
