LETHBRIDGE, AB– Eligible Albertans can book their COVID-19 vaccination appointments at Medicine Shoppe Lethbridge today.

After receiving word from Alberta Health Services (AHS) that the Medicine Shoppe was eligible to give out the Moderna COVID vaccine, the local shop will be allowed 300 doses per week.

Anyone eligible which is currently seniors aged 65 and older can book their appointments for the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines today.

Medicine Shoppe Lethbridge will only be receiving the Moderna vaccine, and those eligible can book here for the first appointments landing on Monday, March 15.

Pharmacist and owner of Medicine Shoppe Lethbridge Vishal Sukhadiya, says the news that his business can give vaccines was something great to hear.

He also says supply is not an issue, “we have to give out 300 shots every single week so that’s why we have a roster available and we are taking names for patients who are willing to get the shot next week.”

Sukhadiya added that those currently eligible will be rapidly vaccinated to hopefully move onto the next phase soon.

“In two weeks I think we’ll be able to vaccinate all people who are 65 plus.”

He hopes this will speed up the vaccine process in Alberta since many other Pharmacies will be receiving vaccines soon.

Those that will be receiving the vaccine will need to bring in their Alberta Healthcare card and Identification.
