Canes end weekend series with 5-1 loss to Red Deer

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes ended their three-game series with the Red Deer Rebels up two games to one.

Sunday’s contest, however, did not go in the Canes’ favour as they fell 5-1.

Logan Barlage took advantage of a power play early on and scored the lone goal for Lethbridge at the 7:57 mark of the first period

He hit the net thanks to assists from Justin Hall and Alex Cotton.

The Rebels outshot the Hurricanes 35-28. Lethbridge’s Carl Tetachuk blocked 30 shots on net.

In the series, Lethbridge won the first two games. They were victorious 7-4 Friday night and 4-3 on Saturday.

The Canes are now 2-3-0-0 on the season.

Up next, Lethbridge opens a three-game series with Calgary on Friday, March 19 with the first contest taking place in the windy city.
