AHS confirms 24 new COVID cases in Lethbridge, no deaths in Alberta

EDMONTON, AB– Alberta Health Services has released its update on COVID-19 for Monday, covering statistics compiled over the past 24 hours.

545 cases were confirmed across the province, bringing the total to 146,885. Of those, 7,922 cases are active while 1,983 people have recovered.

In the South Zone, 47 people tested positive including 24 in Lethbridge.

Active infections in the city fell by 20 and regionally by 10.

No new COVID-19 deaths were reported anywhere in Alberta.

Provincially, 288 patients are currently hospitalized including 64 who have been admitted to intensive care.

With another 8,362 tests completed over the past day, there has now been a total of 3,684,525 tests conducted on 1,899,495 different people.

608,032 vaccine doses have been administered in Alberta as of the end of March 28.

To date, 208 cases of COVID-19 variants have been confirmed in the South Zone. Among those who have tested positive, 33 have recovered and none have died.

Below is a breakdown of cases per regional health zone:

  • Edmonton Zone – 56,723 cases, 1,750 active
    • 90 in hospital, 18 in ICU
    • 1,007 deaths
  • Calgary Zone – 56,808 cases, 3,726 active
    • 109 in hospital, 30 in ICU
    • 603 deaths
  • North Zone – 13,776 cases, 889 active
    • 27 in hospital, five in ICU
    • 146 deaths
  • Central Zone – 11,441 cases, 719 active
    • 31 in hospital, four in ICU
    • 122 deaths
  • South Zone – 7,990 cases, 805 active
    • 31 in hospital, seven in ICU
    • 105 deaths

Below is a breakdown of cases in the South Health Zone:

  • Lethbridge – 3,105 cases (24 new), 487 active, 30 deaths
    • North Lethbridge – 1,104 cases (nine new), 195 active, six deaths
    • West Lethbridge – 1,015 cases (eight new), 177 active, three deaths
    • South Lethbridge – 986 cases (seven new), 122 active, 21 deaths
  • Brooks – 1,367 cases, three active, 14 deaths
  • Cardston County – 778 cases (eight new), 78 active, 13 deaths
  • Lethbridge County – 673 cases (four new), 114 active, eight deaths
  • Medicine Hat – 579 cases (three new), 14 active, 17 deaths
  • M.D. of Taber – 391 cases (four new), 47 active, six deaths
  • M.D. of Pincher Creek – 244 cases, 13 active, five deaths
  • County of Warner – 179 cases, five active, three deaths
  • County of Newell – 162 cases, two active, two deaths
  • Cypress County – 150 cases (one new), four active, zero deaths
  • County of Forty Mile – 126 cases, seven active, three deaths
  • Fort Macleod – 132 cases (one new), 22 active, four deaths
  • Crowsnest Pass – 29 cases, five active, zero deaths
