UPDATE: Reported attempted child abduction a “misunderstanding”: LPS

LETHBRIDGE, AB – UPDATE: Lethbridge Police says there was “no criminal intent” in a reported incident Sunday afternoon.

LPS reported Monday morning that they were called to the Lakeview School baseball diamonds on Henderson Lake Boulevard South.

A 12-year-old girl told police that a van pulled up beside her. She had claimed that five people got out of the van and tried to grab her.

LPS has provided an update to the matter, saying it was all a misunderstanding.

They determined that the occupants of the van were in the area on a group outing and were running from the vehicle to the nearby park to play ball.
