Hurricanes tame Rebels 6-3

LETHBRIDGE, AB– After the WHL changed the Central division schedule early Friday, the Lethbridge Hurricanes and the Red Deer Rebels took the ice Friday evening.

The Canes came out strong and were able to come away with a 5-1 win.

Game Summary:

First Period:

Trevor Thurston opened the game up for the Canes nearly 4 minutes into the first frame.

Hurricanes lead 1-0 after one.

Second Period:

Six minutes into the second, Alex Cotton scored his first of the game.

Noah Boyko scores his third of the season to go up 3-0 for the Canes.

Ethan Rowland responded to the Hurricanes’ onslaught t score the Rebels first of the game.

Hurricanes lead 3-1 after two.

Third Period:

Alex Thacker got the scoring started in the third period to go up 4-1 for the Canes.

Dino Cambeitz and Alex Cotton both scored goals a few minutes after to dominate the Rebels.

Rebels’ Josh Tarzwell and Ethan Rowland responded with two goals but it wasn’t enough to come as the Hurricanes win 6-3.

The two teams play again Saturday, April 10.
