Alterations made to Lethbridge Transit routes to serve COVID vaccination centre

Apr 12, 2021 | 8:48 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Transit has modified two of its routes to better service the COVID-19 vaccination centre at Exhibition Park.

Routes 21 South and 21 Industrial have been altered so buses can drive into the Exhibition Grounds and drop off riders close to the vaccination centre doors, at bus stop #15002.

The route changes will be in place seven days a week; however, evening and weekend service will not go into the industrial park. The aim is to ensure all residents can get vaccinated as quickly as possible.

Transit Manager Tim Sanderson said, “throughout the pandemic, Lethbridge Transit has been modifying how we deliver service to make sure we continue to keep our community safe.”

“This is another change we’ve made to ensure everyone has access to this critical and important next step of getting vaccinated.”

Lethbridge mayor Chris Spearman is encouraging all residents to get their vaccine, saying, “vaccines are proven to be safe and highly effective at preventing COVID-19.”

“Getting vaccinated will help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in [the] community and will allow our economy to get back on track.”
