1,699 new COVID cases in Alberta Wednesday

EDMONTON, AB– Due to a technical problem, the government of Alberta has released limited COVID-19 data.

Over the past 24 hours, there were 1,699 new cases & completed 18,412 tests across the province. The positivity rate was about 9.5%.

There are now 18,873 active cases in Alberta.

“We have confirmed another 1,332 variant cases in the last 24 hours. Variants now make up about 59% of active cases in the province,” says Dr. Deena Hinshaw.

In total, 35,785 doses of vaccine were administered yesterday, which brings the provincial total to more than 1.23 million.
